Data sources
Exchange Rate Data Sources
The source hierarchy used for rates, currency definitions and country money information.
Exchange-rate data
CurrencyHub retrieves latest and historical reference-rate data through Frankfurter. Provider responses are checked for supported currency codes, positive numeric rates and a valid publication date before display.
Many Frankfurter rates originate with central banks. The European Central Bank, for example, describes its euro reference rates as information-only rates published on working days.
Currency reference facts
Currency codes and minor-unit conventions are checked against ISO 4217. Issuer, central-bank and banknote information is linked to the relevant central bank, monetary authority or government source on the currency page.
Country money guidance
Payment, customs and travel-money statements are included only when a government, central bank, customs authority or established public travel source supports the claim. Rules that can change are accompanied by a review date and a link to the source.
What these sources do not provide
A reference-rate source does not provide the final rate charged by a bank, card network, ATM operator or money-transfer service. CurrencyHub does not infer crypto-asset or precious-metal prices from fiat reference-rate data.
