Guide

Currency converter basics

What is a currency converter?

A currency converter estimates the value of one currency in another using a published exchange rate. It helps compare travel money, invoices, card purchases and transfers.

Why is my bank's rate different?

Financial institutions may use their own rate sources and add spreads or service fees. The converter's fee tool helps you estimate that difference before you compare providers.

How CurrencyHub calculates conversions

CurrencyHub applies the latest available provider reference rate to your amount, derives inverse rates from the same source and keeps the source date visible.

Questions

Currency converter FAQ

How accurate is the CurrencyHub converter?

CurrencyHub uses the latest available reference-rate data from the configured exchange-rate provider. It is designed for comparison and research, not as a guaranteed transaction quote.

Why does my bank show a different exchange rate?

Banks, card networks and money-transfer services may include spreads, service fees, settlement timing and their own rate sources, so their final customer rate can differ from a reference rate.

How often are CurrencyHub exchange rates updated?

CurrencyHub displays the provider's published reference-rate date. The update schedule depends on the provider and the currency pair being requested.

Does the converter include bank and transfer fees?

The converter includes a fee simulator so you can estimate the effect of common percentage fees. It does not know the exact fees charged by your bank, card issuer or transfer provider.
