About converting NPR
The Nepalese rupee is Nepal's official currency and legal tender. Nepal Rastra Bank issues Nepalese currency notes and coins and manages the country's domestic currency supply. NPR is the ISO code used for the rupee in international payment and exchange-rate systems, and one rupee is divided into 100 paisa. Nepal Rastra Bank publishes a separate official exchange-rate table for the Indian rupee and an open-market table for other currencies. That distinction is important: the bank's own page labels the INR rate as fixed by Nepal Rastra Bank, while open-market rates quoted by different banks may differ.
Use this page when you want to start with Nepalese rupees and compare them with multiple target currencies. The separate Nepalese Rupee profile page covers the ISO code, symbol, issuer, countries and reference information.
The amounts shown here are reference calculations for comparison. Banks, cards and transfer services may apply their own spreads, fees and timing rules.
Exchange-rate information is provided for reference only and is not financial, trading or investment advice.
