The Dominican peso is the national currency of the Dominican Republic. The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic is responsible for the monetary framework and for issuing peso notes and coins. DOP is the ISO code that distinguishes the Dominican peso from other peso currencies, and one peso is divided into 100 centavos. Local prices, wages and domestic accounts use the peso, while tourism businesses may also display foreign-currency comparisons.
